IELTS teaching jobs in Korea

IELTS teaching is score work. Students are preparing for study, migration or professional registration abroad, and they arrive with a number they need rather than a level they want to reach — which changes the job: you are teaching the four papers and the band descriptors as much as the language. Hiring is mostly at test-preparation academies, university language centres and adult academies, and it concentrates in the months before application deadlines.

Employers generally ask for familiarity with the format and the marking criteria, especially for writing and speaking, and some want evidence you have taught it before rather than just taken it. Marking and one-to-one speaking practice often sit outside the timetabled hour — worth asking how that time is counted.
