About LucyESL
The verified employment marketplace for English teachers in South Korea.
UPDATED 2026-09-02
Most Korea ESL job boards compete on listing count. We don't. LucyESL exists to help you answer three questions before you commit to moving across the world:
- Is this employer real? — verification badges show what we actually checked, and when.
- Is this job actually good? — every listing carries a Lucy Job Quality Report: salary, teaching hours, on-site hours, effective pay per hour, housing, and which legally required benefits the employer put in writing. Plain facts, no hidden score.
- Who am I really dealing with? — direct-hire schools, public programs, recruiters, and staffing companies are always labeled, and you can filter for direct hire only.
What we do
- Korea only. Seoul to Jeju — no global listings, no filler.
- Pay shown wherever the employer stated it — never buried, and "Not stated" is said out loud. Across the whole board, pay is measured on the salary data page.
- Employer verification — one badge, see the verification standards for exactly what it means. Verification is never for sale.
- Listings we copied from other public boards — so you don't have to tab-hop — are always marked “Copied listing”, link out to the original posting to apply, and are never presented as verified.
- Listings expire automatically unless the employer reconfirms the job is still open, so what you see is actually hiring.
- Every directly-posted listing is reviewed before it goes live.
What we deliberately don't do
- No anonymous school reviews or public blacklists.
- No selling "trust" — featured placement (when it exists) will always be labeled and is separate from verification.
- No recruiter ban — recruiters can be useful — but no hidden recruiters either. The poster type is always on the card.
