About these jobs
English camps are short, intensive programs run during the Korean school vacations — winter, roughly from late December into February, and summer, from late July through August. They are run by academies, universities, local governments and dedicated camp companies, and they hire for the season: contracts of a few weeks, with accommodation and meals on site at residential camps.
Camp days are long and full — classes in the morning, activities in the afternoon, supervision in the evening at a residential camp — so ask what a day actually contains and whether evenings and weekends are part of it. With a contract this short the details matter more than usual: how pay is calculated, when it is paid, what happens if the camp is cancelled or under-enrolled, and whether the visa you hold allows the work. Hiring for winter camps typically starts in the autumn. Related: part-time work and TOEFL intensives.
