About these jobs
6 of 7 state pay — see salary data across the whole board. Listings copied from another board say so, and are not verified by us.
Bilingual roles are those where the academy wants an instructor who can work in Korean as well as English — for lower-level classes where explanation in the first language moves things along, and for the parent-facing side of the job, where consultations and progress calls are conducted in Korean. That makes this a different hiring pool from the rest of the board rather than a specialty layered on top of it.
Because the requirement is a language ability rather than a subject, adverts vary widely in how much Korean they actually expect: enough to manage a classroom is not the same as enough to run a consultation with a parent. Establish which is meant. The duties outside teaching — counselling calls, progress reports, admissions support — are also more common in these roles, so ask what the week contains beyond class hours. Related: phonics and school settings.
