Daegu is the big inland city of the southeast — a university town with a steady academy base, mostly elementary and middle-school programs plus evening academies. It hires year-round at a smaller volume than Seoul or Busan, and recruiters place a meaningful share of the roles, so check the employer label on each listing.

Costs are lower than the capital and the subway covers the teaching districts. Summers are famously the hottest in Korea; winters are dry. KTX puts Seoul about two hours away.
