About these jobs
11 of 36 state pay — see salary data across the whole board. Listings copied from another board say so, and are not verified by us.
Part-time teaching in Korea comes in several shapes: a few evening classes a week at an academy, weekend programs, corporate classes before or after office hours, and short-day positions with fewer hours than a full contract. Pay is usually counted per hour or per class rather than as a monthly salary, and the hours can move from term to term.
Two questions decide whether a part-time role works. The first is eligibility: who may take part-time teaching depends on the visa a person holds and any permission attached to it, so settle it with the employer before agreeing to anything. The second is how secure the hours are — what happens when a class is cancelled, a student leaves or a term ends, and whether a minimum number of hours is guaranteed. Related: corporate classes, private tutoring, and online teaching.
