1. About LucyESL

LucyESL is an ESL job board operated by Lucy Hartwell (sole trader, England & Wales). By using this website you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this service.

2. For teachers

By creating an account and applying for jobs through LucyESL, you confirm that:

• The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You hold the qualifications and experience you claim to hold
• You are legally entitled to work in your chosen country (or are seeking legal work authorisation)
• You will not use LucyESL to spam schools or submit applications you have no intention of pursuing

LucyESL is free for teachers. We do not charge teachers any fees at any point in the process. If a school requests money from you in connection with a job found on LucyESL, please report it to Lucy immediately.

3. For schools

By posting jobs on LucyESL, you confirm that:

• Your school is a genuine, registered educational institution
• All information in your job listing is accurate at time of posting
• The salary, benefits, and conditions listed are genuinely available to the successful candidate
• You will not use applicant data for any purpose other than assessing their suitability for the listed role
• You will handle applicant data in accordance with applicable data protection laws
• You will not charge teachers any fees in connection with their employment

LucyESL reserves the right to remove any listing, decline to publish a listing, or ban any school at its sole discretion. Refunds for refused listings are issued in full.

4. Lucy's reviews and recommendations

Lucy's reviews of schools and job listings represent her honest personal opinion based on available information at the time of review. LucyESL makes no warranty that any school will maintain the standards assessed at time of review. Lucy's Pick badges represent Lucy's personal endorsement and do not constitute a guarantee of employment conditions.

5. Limitation of liability

LucyESL is a job board and introduction service. We are not a party to any employment agreement between teachers and schools. We are not liable for: any loss of earnings, disappointment, or harm arising from any employment arrangement; inaccurate information provided by schools or teachers; visa or immigration outcomes; or any other matter beyond our reasonable control.

6. Payments

School listing fees are processed securely via Stripe. By purchasing a listing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Listing fees are non-refundable once a listing is live, except where LucyESL declines to publish the listing, in which case a full refund is issued. Verification fees are refunded in full if verification is declined.

7. Intellectual property

All content on LucyESL — including Lucy's guides, tips, country notes, and all original text — is the intellectual property of Lucy Hartwell. Reproduction without permission is not permitted. Schools may link to their LucyESL listing but may not reproduce listing content on other platforms without permission.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use LucyESL to post fraudulent job listings, misrepresent your qualifications, scrape or harvest data, send unsolicited communications to other users, or engage in any conduct that is unlawful, harmful, or deceptive.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
