# LucyESL > A job board for English teachers in South Korea and the schools that hire them. Pay is shown wherever the employer stated it — "Not stated" is always explicit, never hidden. Employers that sign up here can be verified — one badge, meaning we checked their Korean business registration (사업자등록) and that the poster is an authorized contact, with the verification date shown — recruiters are always labeled, and E-2 / F-visa requirements are stated per role. Listings copied from other public boards are marked "Copied listing" and are never presented as verified. LucyESL exists to remove the guesswork from teaching-job hunting in South Korea: employers are verified against one published standard (verification is never for sale), recruiters are allowed but always labeled (with a direct-hire-only filter), and every listing carries a "Lucy Job Quality Report" — a transparent facts table (effective pay per teaching hour with statutory-minimum-wage context, split shift, severance/pension/insurance disclosure, expiry dates) with no hidden score. Listings expire automatically. Teachers browse and apply for free; schools post directly to teachers. Key facts: - Location focus: South Korea (Seoul, Gyeonggi/Incheon, Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, Gwangju, Ulsan, Sejong, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gyeongsang, Jeju). - Audience: English teachers worldwide (E-2 visa eligibility is typically for citizens of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK, and the US; F-series visa holders can also work). - Supply today: most live listings are copied from public job boards. They are always marked "Copied listing" on the card and the listing page, LucyESL has not verified those employers. Since 2026-09-06 the Apply button on a copied listing goes through LucyESL: the applicant gets an application pack by email and a link to send the employer, rather than being redirected off-site. A link to the original posting is offered alongside it. An employer can claim a copied listing, after which it becomes first-party and any applications held for it are delivered. Directly-posted listings are the ones LucyESL verifies and relays applications for. - Not every listing states pay; the current disclosure rate and salary statistics are published at https://lucyesl.com/salaries. ## Pages - [Browse jobs](https://lucyesl.com/jobs): all live teaching jobs, filterable by region, student age, housing, visa, schedule, direct-hire-only, and minimum salary. - [Salary data](https://lucyesl.com/salaries): English-teacher salary statistics for Korea computed from the live listings on this board — medians by region and employer type, effective pay per teaching hour with statutory-minimum-wage context, and disclosure rates. Refreshed with every listings update. Each question on that page has a stable anchor, so a specific figure can be cited at the section it comes from rather than at the page: [#median-salary](https://lucyesl.com/salaries#median-salary), [#by-region](https://lucyesl.com/salaries#by-region), [#by-employer-type](https://lucyesl.com/salaries#by-employer-type), [#per-teaching-hour](https://lucyesl.com/salaries#per-teaching-hour), [#disclosure-rates](https://lucyesl.com/salaries#disclosure-rates), [#housing](https://lucyesl.com/salaries#housing), [#methodology](https://lucyesl.com/salaries#methodology). - [What Korean ESL job ads don't tell you](https://lucyesl.com/disclosure): disclosure rates across the live board — how many adverts state the monthly salary, the teaching hours, the total on-site hours, severance (퇴직금), national pension, health insurance, flight support, paid vacation and split shifts. Most adverts state pay; far fewer state the hours worked for it, so for most listings an hourly rate cannot be computed. Counts of adverts, not of employers; silence in an advert is not a denial. Stable anchors: [#rates](https://lucyesl.com/disclosure#rates), [#why-hours](https://lucyesl.com/disclosure#why-hours), [#ask](https://lucyesl.com/disclosure#ask), [#methodology](https://lucyesl.com/disclosure#methodology). Machine-readable: https://lucyesl.com/disclosure?format=json - [원어민 채용 공고, 무엇이 빠져 있나](https://lucyesl.com/school-disclosure): the same disclosure figures written for Korean schools (Korean-language). - [원어민 강사 급여 통계](https://lucyesl.com/school-salaries): the same salary statistics as /salaries, read from the same function and written for Korean schools (Korean-language) — median, by region, by who posted the advert, effective pay per teaching hour against the 2026 statutory minimum wage, disclosure rates, housing. Stable anchors: [#median](https://lucyesl.com/school-salaries#median), [#by-region](https://lucyesl.com/school-salaries#by-region), [#by-type](https://lucyesl.com/school-salaries#by-type), [#per-hour](https://lucyesl.com/school-salaries#per-hour), [#disclosure](https://lucyesl.com/school-salaries#disclosure), [#housing](https://lucyesl.com/school-salaries#housing), [#method](https://lucyesl.com/school-salaries#method). Descriptive statistics of adverts, not a salary benchmark. - [About LucyESL](https://lucyesl.com/about): what the marketplace is and what it refuses to do. - [Verification standards](https://lucyesl.com/verification-standards): exactly what the verified badge checks, and how direct-hire/recruiter labeling works. - [Safety & reporting](https://lucyesl.com/safety): red flags in Korean ESL hiring and how listing reports are handled. - [E-2 visa documents](https://lucyesl.com/e2-visa-documents): the ten documents an E-2 applicant gathers (passport, apostilled degree, sealed transcripts, national criminal record check and its apostille, photos, TEFL, self-health statement, résumé) and the four the school files instead, with the record check's name and apostille authority for the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Stable anchors: [#yours](https://lucyesl.com/e2-visa-documents#yours), [#record-check](https://lucyesl.com/e2-visa-documents#record-check), [#school](https://lucyesl.com/e2-visa-documents#school). Educational guidance, not legal advice. - [For schools](https://lucyesl.com/school-register): create an account to post a job directly to teachers (Korean-language). - [요금 안내](https://lucyesl.com/pricing): what posting costs (Korean-language) — direct-hire schools and public programs are free during launch; recruiter pricing is planned per posting in KRW with a Korean tax invoice (세금계산서); the verification badge is never for sale. - [기관 인증 안내](https://lucyesl.com/verification): how a school or recruiter is verified (Korean-language) — the Korean business registration (사업자등록) checked against the national tax record plus an authorized-contact check; free, and separate from any fee. ## Notes - Individual jobs live at https://lucyesl.com/job.php?id=. Listings posted directly by employers carry JobPosting structured data; listings copied from other boards are deliberately excluded from structured data, the sitemap, and search indexing — the original board stays the canonical source for those openings. - The sitemap lists directly-posted jobs and all landing pages: https://lucyesl.com/sitemap.xml - New directly-posted listings are also published as an RSS feed, newest first, each item carrying the listing's full text: https://lucyesl.com/feed.xml - The salary statistics at https://lucyesl.com/salaries are published under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/): they may be quoted or reused, including commercially, with credit to LucyESL and a link to that page. A machine-readable copy is at https://lucyesl.com/salaries?format=json. The licence covers the aggregate statistics computed by LucyESL, not the underlying job adverts.
